Teaching volunteers in Kenya help teaching some subjects in rural and primary and secondary schools where teaching staff are limited. The chosen subject can be optional defending on volunteer’s wish i.e. English, Mathematics, computers, biology, music, extra curriculum activities, and career guidance among others. Environmental education is also taught in schools this helps to mitigate negative impacts on wildlife and natural resources conservation through organizing educational exhibitions and conferences in the community to address problem facing them and how they can be addressed. Environmental education also calls for organizing of activities which will have a positive impact to our environment like tree planting, park cleaning e.t.c. By engaging kids fully in this activity will not broaden their knowledge but also create awareness of conserving natural resources and the benefit of it.
The teaching volunteer program in Kenya grants volunteers with a golden opportunity to donate their skills and time to helping others in need, while honing their teaching skils. At the same time the reaching volunteer program allows volunteers to experience african culture first hand as they are hosted in homestays for their entire volunteering time.
The programs starts with meeting and greeting at the airport and trasfering to your Nairobi hotel. Before proceeding to your volunteer program we orient you for two days on the African culture, how to behave, what is expected of you, kenya history and Kenyan Geography. After the orientation you will be taken to you host family who will host you for the whole duration of the program.
