The social care volunteer program enables volunteers to supports orphans and less fortunate children living in children’s home with traumatizing background who need you to give them guidance and counseling and teach vital virtues to support them grow morally and responsibly . Social care volunteers in Kenya engage in day to day activities of running the children home they are attached and can also participate in resource mobilization to fast track fund raising through people of good will and donors. The orhanage activities include; cooking, feeding kids, laundry, assiting them in doing homework, laundry, administrative work, general grooming, dressing, taking medicine for the sick ones and soothing them to sleep.
The social care volunteer program in Kenya grants volunteers with a golden opportunity to donate their skills and time to helping others in need, while honing their social care experience and learning about social care and vulnerable children in Kenya. At the same time the social care program allows volunteers to experience african culture first hand as they are hosted in homestays for their entire volunteering time.
The programs starts with meeting and greeting at the airport and trasfering to your Nairobi hotel. Before proceeding to your volunteer program we orient you for two days on the African culture, how to behave, what is expected of you, kenya history and Kenyan Geography. After the orientation you will be taken to you host family who will host you for the whole duration of the program. The project you will be volunteering can be a waking distance or with minimal commuting from the hosting family.
